WEEK 103 - I'm On Steroids

HOMECOMING: AUGUST 10 9AM @1272 Walden Ln, Draper, UT 84020 My HEAVENS I love you all! I hope you had just the most blessed week ever! I've literally never felt as many emotions as I do right now. I imagine that when Jesus died His apostles were overwhelmed with emotions just like I am. Jesus gave them a commission to go spread His light to all of the world. I bet they were grateful for the time they had with the Master, excited to go and do their best, and nervous for what is to come. I feel all of those right now. When Jesus left they didn't really know what to do, so they decided to "go a fishing." They caught nothing all night long. I bet they were feeling pretty down on themselves. In a short time they went from following the Savior of the world to unsuccessful fisherman. The thing that I think we all sometimes forget is that the Savior won't ever forsake us, He'll always come back, no matter our circumstance. As soon as Jesus came back to them, John knew "it is the Lord." The Lord won't leave us alone in darkness forever, He will come. He has come to me many times. The deepest desire of my soul is that I will never forget that. I hope all of you never forget that either. This week was joyous other than the part where me and Elder Romney contracted leprosy The majority of my body has been plagued by poison ivy, yes even my holy places have also been tormented haha. We're on steroids now which is neat. My steroid pills weren't cutting it, so yesterday I got two big steroid shots right in the caboose. Hopefully I get jacked and also I don't pass away. This week had so many lit things though let me elaborate: - I got to go on a glorious exchange with my past comp Elder Ryker "Sim-Poppa" Amadeus Duersch this week to go to the temple with our friend Daniel! My word it was so lit to be with the YSA again. Daniel stated that throughout his temple experience he felt "enlightened" - We were helping our RCs Zhong Zhen and Shi Jun Hua get the priesthood and I was like "Zhong Zhen do you have the priesthood?" he goes "yes." I was like "are you sure Zhong Zhen, you just barely got baptized?" "yes I have the priesthood." Believe it or not Zhong Zhen did not actually have the priesthood, but both of those legends are getting it now - I showed Peter Chen my poison ivy on my obliques (the worst part) and my dear he was so disappointed in me. He started touching my oblique and went: "are you itching it?" and I was like "a little but I am trying not to" he goes "no horsley... DO NOT DO THAT." He was so DISPLEASED with the situation, I love him so much - What a glorious time to be on steroids, we have been having so many awesome meals with people who have had such a dramatic impact on my life, I am forever grateful for the people I have met here - Peter Chen gave the greatest EQ lesson this Sunday and during it he said "Horsley why did Jesus call dumb people to be His apostles?" and I was like "because they were humble and willing" and he looked at me for like 5 seconds and goes "no. who has a better answer?" and he moved on haha. Later in the lesson he was talking about humility and stopped and goes "Horsley find a good wife" and went back to talking about humility. I will miss these curveballs with all of my heart - I feel just like Oliver Cowdrey who said "these were days never to be forgotten." My life has changed out here everyone, and I am grateful it has. HOMECOMING: AUGUST 10 9AM @1272 Walden Ln, Draper, UT 84020 Hey everyone! I come home in a couple of weeks and I would be exhilarated to have you at my homecoming! I love you all so much, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I hope you've had a great week! "Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?" He cannot. I have seen this in my own life on many different occasions, and with many different fires. We all have our own fire whether it's lust, pride, or vanity, we all feel the heat of it. The good news is that there is someone who can pick you back up when you get burned, not just repair your clothes but give you new ones. It is Jesus. He is the only one who can fix what is broken, mend what is shattered, and cool that which burns. I love you all and so does He. WEEK 35 - Plagiarism

If you're a missionary that is reading this it is nearly impossible that you like your mission more than I do. The funny thing is that I arguably liked it the least out of all of us at the beginning, and now I 100% like it the most out of all of you, wow. But GOODNESS ME this week was incredibly miracle filled. I wish I could share every little detail of everything that happened this week, but nobody would like that other than mother and father (and possibly Elder Campbell idk). I could share literally a plethora of spiritual thoughts for this week, but the one I want to share for this email is about the hope that this beautiful gospel brings. So Peter Chen’s wife died this last week (very sad) and so me and Elder Campbell got to go back to go to a memorial for her. We pulled up and it was super nice to see the Chinese branch again (although they were absolutely savage at this event about a few physical flaws I apparently developed while I was gone) but it was so fun to see so many...

WEEK 1 - I love english so much

Oh my goodness I love the beautiful language of English. I have taken it for granted for far too long. I solemnly swear from now on every time I speak a word of English I will be grateful for it. The appreciation I have found found for this language has all stemmed from home MTC. Ladies and Gentlemen the entire thing is in Chinese. Like the whole thing. On the first call we had I didn't pick up a dang thing, but now I am kinda catching on. My experience with this language could only be explained by one man, and that man is Bear Grills: "survival can be summed up in three words - never give up." I can't wait to go to the actually MTC but I can wait to say goodbye to my family and friends. That is going to be quite sad.
