WEEK 102 - Peter Chen: Fish Sauce Scuffle

HOMECOMING: AUGUST 10 9AM @1272 Walden Ln, Draper, UT 84020 Hey everyone! I come home in a couple of weeks and I would be exhilarated to have you at my homecoming! I love you all so much, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I hope you've had a great week! "Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?" He cannot. I have seen this in my own life on many different occasions, and with many different fires. We all have our own fire whether it's lust, pride, or vanity, we all feel the heat of it. The good news is that there is someone who can pick you back up when you get burned, not just repair your clothes but give you new ones. It is Jesus. He is the only one who can fix what is broken, mend what is shattered, and cool that which burns. I love you all and so does He. I am going to miss the Chinese people so much, I do not recall seeing many of them in Draper haha. They are a people who have souls full of love, I will never forget what I have learned from them. Here is some great stuff from my week: - We had just the best time at a Japanese BBQ with our member Kathryn this week. At this unbelievably good place they give you the meat raw and you get to grill them. Unfortunately Kathryn and Elder Romney were not willing whatsoever to be grill master, and it just happens to be that I'm just a willing dude, so this great mantle fell on me. I felt as if my father's grill master skills might've been genetic, but I was displeased to find out that that was not the case. Probably like ~70% of it wound up being fully cooked haha, but it was a good time. Intense defecation followed - Peter Chen, Charlie, and Wu Ji Hua took me out for a goodbye lunch this week and it was a magnificent experience. I got out of the car and was welcomed by my beloved Peter Chen, he said "wow you look handsome today" and gave me a couple of smacks on the kaboose. What a glorious way to start. Wu Ji Hua cannot speak English and she also didn't want fish sauce in her soup so that left her in quite the pickle. She appealed to Peter for assistance and he took matters into his own hands... he was like "ok she wants no fish sauce" and the waiter was like "ok there is not fish sauce in it already" and he was like "no I will talk to the chef" he got up to go track down the chef, but luckily before he could defile the crap out of the chef I alleviated the situation haha. He later said "I need to talk loud Elder Horsley, I am ugly and short. You are tall and handsome, talk quieter." I will miss him with all of my heart - Finished the standard works and I like them - We had another awesome member meal with Peter and Judy this week! They let me do the dishes and I started doing them and in my mind I was like "gosh dang I am a good guy" and boom right then Judy sees my dish washing technique and comes up with a great idea where she completely washes it first, then I look at it and make sure we are all good. I was humbled haha - We had some awesome new friends come to church, it was a huge miracle - The people I surround myself with have done more for me than I ever could've done for them I feel that same way about all of you, and I thank you for that! I look forward to seeing each of you soon, you radiate light and I look forward to feeling it. Have a great week! pics: - oil change that took all eternity - english class - fantastic goodbye with great friends
