WEEK 103 - I'm On Steroids

HOMECOMING: AUGUST 10 9AM @1272 Walden Ln, Draper, UT 84020 My HEAVENS I love you all! I hope you had just the most blessed week ever! I've literally never felt as many emotions as I do right now. I imagine that when Jesus died His apostles were overwhelmed with emotions just like I am. Jesus gave them a commission to go spread His light to all of the world. I bet they were grateful for the time they had with the Master, excited to go and do their best, and nervous for what is to come. I feel all of those right now. When Jesus left they didn't really know what to do, so they decided to "go a fishing." They caught nothing all night long. I bet they were feeling pretty down on themselves. In a short time they went from following the Savior of the world to unsuccessful fisherman. The thing that I think we all sometimes forget is that the Savior won't ever forsake us, He'll always come back, no matter our circumstance. As soon as Jesus came back to them, John k...

WEEK 102 - Peter Chen: Fish Sauce Scuffle

HOMECOMING: AUGUST 10 9AM @1272 Walden Ln, Draper, UT 84020 Hey everyone! I come home in a couple of weeks and I would be exhilarated to have you at my homecoming! I love you all so much, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I hope you've had a great week! "Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?" He cannot. I have seen this in my own life on many different occasions, and with many different fires. We all have our own fire whether it's lust, pride, or vanity, we all feel the heat of it. The good news is that there is someone who can pick you back up when you get burned, not just repair your clothes but give you new ones. It is Jesus. He is the only one who can fix what is broken, mend what is shattered, and cool that which burns. I love you all and so does He. I am going to miss the Chinese people so much, I do not recall seeing many of them in Draper haha. They are a people who have souls full of love, I will never forget what I have...

WEEK 101 - Subpar Alaskan Cruise

Hello everyone! I hope you had the most blessed week! "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Something I have become very familiar with on my mission is the tribulation of this world. It is everywhere and I have seen it consume many many people. In fact, that has been one of the hardest aspects of my mission, seeing that. What I love about this scripture is that Jesus assures us that we will experience tribulation, but because of Him and His atoning sacrifice we can overcome it and one day live again. If anyone experienced worldly tribulation it was Him, but He overcame it and rose again. So we can too. I think that is great. Alright this week was good. Peter Chen finally returned from his Alaskan cruise of which he was severely unimpressed. "It was too dry Elder Horsley" Don't worry though, it is humid here and all is well in Zion now that...

WEEK 100 - "Garbage Mentality"

Hi everyone, I love you all so much! I had just the most blessed week ever and I hope you did to! "before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee." I have a hefty belief that we truly were all known personally by God before we came here. God looked into your soul, "and God saw the light, that is was good" so He sent you and sanctified you to do more than we ever thought we could. Each of us has been prepared from the foundation of the world to do something bigger than us and I pray that I will be able to do that, so that one day I can be sanctified in Him. Alright my week was marvelous: - We had the most pleasant conversation with our new friend Michael this week. I was putting in his contact info at the end and he was like "my name is Michael Liang" so I start typing it in and he is like "ok Liang: L-I-.." and I was like "oh ok L-I-A-N-G?" and looked at me like I was not mo...
